Valiona and Theralion are two squabbling sibling dragons in the Bastion of Twilight. As amusing as their antics are, they stood in our way and needed to die.
The fight is mostly a battle for survival requiring tons of movement and some coordination for shared damage effects. We found it easier at first to stack the raid with a little more healing, since it's only a one tank fight and there are some impressive bursts of raid damage that need to be healed through.
The phases each have distinct rhythms to get used to. Valiona, fresh from bugging out of a boss encounter in Grim Batol, uses a familiar-looking breath weapon as well as a shared-damage blackout. Theralion, by far the most fabulous dragon enemy we've yet seen, places void zones and an engulfing magic effect that is both an individual buff and a group explosion hazard for the chosen player.
In transition both dragons use area effects in a lovely carnation color that need to be avoided to avoid a transition to the dreaded 'twilight zone'.
In the end, a focused effort with careful attention to the predictable timing of effects and good raid placement was key to a solid kill. Onward to the foul heart of the twilight bastion!
